A Winery Near Albany, NY Built on Legacy, Land & Love
Stable Gate Winery is more than a destination—it’s a working farm, a historic landmark, and a gathering place where food, wine, and community come together.
Formerly Payne Farm and once home to Elsie the Cow of Borden Dairy fame, these fertile acres have been lovingly transformed into vineyards and event spaces by the Feldman family. With deep roots in catering and hospitality dating back to 1936, Stable Gate is the natural evolution of generations devoted to making people feel welcomed, celebrated, and cared for.
Here, farm-to-table isn’t a trend—it’s a way of life.

A Place Where Everyone Belongs
At Stable Gate Winery, hospitality means creating a space where people can show up fully as themselves.
We proudly welcome couples, families, and guests of all identities, backgrounds, and expressions. Whether you’re here to sip wine, celebrate a milestone, or dance under the barn lights, our intention is simple:
to cultivate joy, connection, and belonging.

Family-Owned. Woman-Led. Community-Rooted.
Stable Gate Winery is run by Valerie Feldman, Certified Sommelier and fourth-generation hospitality professional, alongside her family—each playing a role in the life of the farm.
From vineyard care to wedding coordination to tending the gardens, Stable Gate is truly a family effort—one built on care, experience, and love for the land.
